A beautiful example of an 18^th century map of the British Isles.  The detailed title cartouche features a portrait of King George I, flanked by figures, at the lower portion is  the coat-of-arms of the House of Hanover.  Further embellishments include in the upper left the shields of England, Scotland, and Ireland.  At the lower left are scales that include the Royal coat-of-arms, unicorn, and a gallant knight.  The map is rated Very Good [see our rating criteria on the Home Page].  Japanese paper has been added to the blank verso at the folds with no apparent flaws noted.  The map measures approximately ( 22.7" x 19.4"  -  55.4  x  43.5  cm).   $1,850.  ($10.50 shipping / handling / ins.)    Sale Price:  $980
