A very detailed map of western Africa taken from the Atlas Historique.., 1710 and based on Guillaume DeLisle’s map. Well depicted is the Barbary coast down to the equator. Included within the titling is a block of notations and text (lower left) corner dealing with the physical matters of the rivers and lakes. Camps and other related subjects are noted in the Sahara Desert. An excellent copperplate impression printed on watermark paper and rated Excellent [see our rating criteria on the Home Page] with one minor tear noted at the bottom centerfold, archivally repaired of about 1.5″. The map measurers approximately (20.1″ x 15.8″ – 51.1 x 40.2 cm).
